Nurturing little minds, one DIY moment at a time, welcome to Montessori Edited! Browse amongst Montessori materials and make educational, developmental baby toys for your little one in the comfort of your own home, in your own time. There are detailed assembly guides and tutorial videos to help you along the way.
My shop is full of DIY Montessori baby toys! The visual mobiles are aimed at very young babies (Munari, Octahedron, Gobbi, Dancers, Whales, Swallows, Seagulls and Butterflies). These are available in an instantly downloadable, digital format as well. The more advanced tactile mobiles are designed for babies focusing on physical development (Bell on a ribbon, Ring on a ribbon, Grasping Beads, Montessori Bell Rattle).
Do you like sewing? Thinking of making easy sensory baby toys? I've got you covered! Take a look at the DIY sewing kits for babies: the Montessori Puzzle Ball, the Fabric Sensory ball or the Sensory Bean Bags.
Your baby is slowly sitting up? Take a look at the Sensory toys, the Crocheted Balls and the Crochet Teether Rings.
My DIY baby kits are easy to put together without having to hunt down all the resources one by one and worry about the correct measurements. I assist you in every step of the way with the help of extensive Instruction Guides in three languages and additional tutorial videos. The DIY kits and the Digital Download versions are available individually, but you'll find a great variety of mobile sets as well. Look through all of them to see which one suits you and your baby best.
If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to message me and I'll do my best to help.

5 out of 5 starsVery nice item for my newborn daughter. I have now ordered it a second time as we have incorporated one at the changing table and one in her movement area. My daughter loves it and we love it too. We recommend. The instructions are clear and simple. The products included are well made and you don't have to buy anything. All the items you need to assemble are included. Always my pleasure. ❤️

Frequently asked questions
Why are the mobiles not ready-made?
I believe that by making them yourself you put a little bit of you inside the mobiles which will make it extra special for you and for your baby. There are a few mobiles which can be personalised according to your own taste/circumstances.
I can get all these resources from a craft store and get the instructions from the internet, why should I buy from you?
It is true that you can find the resources for all these mobiles yourself. What I am saving you with these DIY sets is:
- time, so that you don't have to go from shop to shop and research online until you find all the materials
- money, so that you don't end up with extra material that you'll probably never use.
Everything in the sets is the exact amount and in the right measurements.
- frustration. I made all the mobiles multiple times so that I can work out the most straight forward instructions and offer varieties and tips and tricks in my instruction guides.
Do the mobiles come in a pre-determined sequence?
Montessori mobiles closely follow babies' developmental needs every step of the way from birth and provide just the right amount of stimulation without overwhelming them. Therefore the first four traditional mobiles have a strict sequence, starting with the Munari, followed by the Octahedron, the Gobbi and finally the Dancers. When your baby's around 3 months old, the animal mobiles are introduced, the mobiles can be used parallel to each other and alternated according to your baby's interest. When your baby's interest changes from visual to physical, you can introduce the tactile mobiles, then the Sensory toys.
Read more about the sequence here:

How long can my baby use a mobile?
Generally speaking, the first four traditional mobiles are changed every two weeks. (Please observe your baby as every child is different and change them accordingly.) This, however does not mean that you worked so hard for only two weeks of use! Read this post for more info:

How long does it take to make a mobile?
The amount of time you need to assemble the Montessori mobiles greatly depends on how faithfully the instructions are followed, how carefully you cut out the elements, how long it takes you to find the balance etc. I would suggest leaving a morning or an afternoon free to make one. I believe that the process of making them is part of the journey.
When your baby moves over to the tactile mobiles, your job becomes easier as well. The tactile sets can be put together in minutes. However, the sewing projects, such as the Puzzle Ball, the Fabric Sensory Ball or the Sensory Bean Bags would take much longer.
What exactly is included in the sets? Is there something that is not included that I will need?
I invested a lot of time and listened to customer feedback to make sure that everything you need is included in each set. In each listing there is at least one photo where you can see all the resources and a detailed resource list in the description.
For the DIY Montessori Mobile Set I made a box opening video which you can watch here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx3ul1NeC9Q&t=41s
There are a couple of things that are NOT included as I figured everybody has these in their house: glue, a needle and scissors.
The Swallows and the Whale mobile also need a red/black marker and the Bell Rattle needs pliers.
You will need a sewing machine to make the Montessori Puzzle Ball, the Fabric Sensory Ball and the Sensory Bean Bags.
I received my item and this is not what I wanted. Can I return it?
Of course! If you don't like what you order, keep it in its original condition and you're welcome to send it back to me. Please contact me within 2 weeks of receiving your package. This is not valid for items already made/used. As my return policy says:
"Conditions of return -
Buyers are responsible for return postage costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value."
How and where should I hang the mobile?
Let's take a look at the most popular options.
1️⃣ A flexible clamp - it's relatively small, therefore easy to carry. However, it's not very sturdy. I wouldn't hang tactile mobiles on it or anything even slightly heavy (visual mobiles are ok).
2️⃣ An adhesive/commander hook - A great way to hang stuff from the ceiling. It's quite strong so no need to worry about the weight. This is your best choice if you live in a small, rented flat. You can add this to all my visual mobiles and visual sets.
3️⃣ A ceiling C hook- A great option if you live in your own house/are allowed to make holes in the ceiling
4️⃣ A baby gym style mobile stand.
